Chapter 119 Mr. Longbottom
Chapter 119 Mr. Longbottom
"Have we arrived at Hogsmeade?" Neville suddenly shouted excitedly.
"Don't be stupid, it's only three o'clock in the afternoon." Matthew looked at his watch and shook his head without hesitation, "I said before, it will take at least four hours before we reach our destination."
Neville could only look out the window with some annoyance, but unfortunately the window was blurred by the rain, and with the lights on in the carriage, he couldn't see anything.
The speed of the train became slower and slower, the sound of the wheels became more and more shrill, and the sound of wind and rain hitting the windows became louder.
And Hermione stuck her head out and looked in the corridor, only to see countless little minds popping up in the corridor. Everyone seemed a little confused and wanted to know what was going on.
There was only a thud, and then all of their bodies leaned to one side, and the train braked to a sudden stop.
There were some ping-ping-pong-pong sounds in the distance, as if countless luggage fell from the luggage rack.
And the unfamiliar teacher almost fell from his seat to the ground.
This time, he finally took off his earplugs and eye mask, and at the same time, there was a puzzled look on his slightly pale face.
Although he didn't make much fuss.
Matthew calmly wiped a clean area on the window.
Then, he could vaguely see countless black and blurry figures floating in the sky outside the window.
"Could it be said?" He couldn't help but frowned.
To be honest, he didn't want to encounter such disgusting creatures as dementors, although he didn't know what his most fearful memory was.
Moreover, didn't Professor Grindelwald warn during the interview with the Daily Prophet that Dementors were prohibited from contacting or affecting the lives of teachers and students at Hogwarts? How could that happen?
Just when Matthew was a little confused, he only heard a slight popping sound, and then the door of the compartment was forcibly opened.
However, what came in was not what Matthew expected, a cloaked, dirty, smelly face that reminded people of fear.
But a small, round-faced wizard.
"Dad" Neville couldn't help shouting in surprise.
There is no doubt that this is the first time Matthew has met Mr. Frank Longbottom.
He is not tall, has not much hair, and has a slightly baby face. At least he is not too majestic and does not look like an Auror at all.
"I am on official duty." Mr. Frank Longbottom did not respond eagerly to his son, but said coldly, "On behalf of the Ministry of Magic, I am checking whether you have any escapees from Azkaban among you."
Neville stopped laughing and joking, and bowed his head obediently.
Matthew noticed that Mr. Longbottom never stepped into the cubicle, but kept a certain distance from the four people in the cubicle; at the same time, his right hand was always in his arms. Matthew could be sure that there was something in his hand. Holding the wand. PC::
"One by one, come to me" he ordered, "starting with you"
He pointed at Matthew.
Matthew walked over very "obediently" and came to Mr. Longbottom.
Then, he only saw Mr. Longbottom's left hand and took out an instrument that looked like an alarm clock from his pocket. He took the thing and probed Matthew's body for almost ten seconds.
"It's okay," he said, and then gestured to Matthew to go back.
Then it was Hermione and Neville's turn.
It's just that during this process, Mr. Longbottom never "interacted" with his son a word, as if the two parties didn't know each other.
"Come here." At the end, Mr. Longbottom pointed to the only adult wizard in the compartment, "Spread your hands and put them by your side."
Mr. Longbottom looked very alert.
The taciturn strange wizard did it without hesitation; without any strange behavior.
However, when Mr. Longbottom took the alarm clock-like instrument and probed his body,
"Ring, ring, ring." A sharp sound erupted from the instrument in the Auror's hand.
Mr. Longbottom's expression suddenly changed. He quickly pulled out his wand and pointed it at the strange wizard.
Even the strange wizard himself was slightly shocked.
"Excuse me," Frank Longbottom asked coldly, his voice unceremonious.
"I am a new teacher at Hogwarts" the stranger replied.
But before he could finish speaking, he was interrupted by Mr. Longbottom: "Okay, let's not discuss the truth or falsehood for now; but before that, I would like to ask you to accompany me for a more detailed inspection, okay? "
Although the Auror's voice contained a hint of questioning, the wand in his hand was waved towards the outside of the cubicle without question.
The stranger was still very cooperative and walked out of the compartment without hesitation.
"Spread your hands and keep them by your side" Mr. Longbottom followed behind him and warned him very sternly.
Soon, the two of them disappeared into the corridor together.
Maybe he got off the train or went to another carriage.
"What's going on?" The three children in the compartment looked at each other in confusion.
Everything that just happened was too sudden and too incredible; it was as if they were actually in a dream.
"No way," Hermione shouted with some fuss, "The person who claims to be the new teacher cannot be one of the three fugitives who escaped from Azkaban."
She was pale and looked a little frightened.
"Don't worry, not necessarily," Matthew calmly shook his head: "Maybe it's just a misunderstanding. Let's wait and see."
Neville began to poke his head and look in the corridor, seemingly looking for traces of his father.
The rain outside the window seemed to be getting heavier and heavier, and the dark shadows in the sky seemed to be ready to move, but they never came close to the train.
Matthew just hoped that this inspection would not take too long.
Unfortunately, things didn't work out as expected, and the train stopped here for almost an hour.
An hour later, the Hogwarts Express started slowly and blew its whistle.
Moreover, after that, the strange wizard who claimed to be the "new teacher" of Hogwarts never came back.
This sudden "accident" made the three people in the cubicle look solemn.
Even after the journey continued, they were no longer interested in chatting and laughing.
Neville looked worried, and Hermione looked scared. Both of them were in a bad mood.
Speechless all the way.
It wasn't until a few hours later that it became completely dark.
The Hogwarts Express finally slowed down and stopped at the dark Hogsmeade Station.
