With how the Nothing came out of the black ooze, it really didn’t seem like there was an end to them.

It was as if the black ooze that was around them would continuously generate these monsters until they were swallowed by them.

But that was what it seemed only to the untrained eye.

For those that looked closely, they could see that the circle around them was slowly increasing.

Even though it seemed like they were just throwing drops into a bucket, their efforts did pay off as they purified the black ooze around them. These were some of the strongest fighters of the Heroes Association, it would only be right that they would be able to do this.

However, it was still a fact that there were just too many monsters around them for them to take care of them all.

If they really wanted to fight against all of these things, it would only be a matter of time before they were all worn out.

In fact, it already seemed like a few of them were getting tired from clearing out all of these monsters that were already here.

Then all of a sudden, there was a slip up where one of them wasn’t able to purify the monster that was charging at them. It wasn’t that they couldn’t react, it was that they didn’t have enough power to destroy that monster in one blow.

The others were able to cover for that one person and destroy the remaining parts of the monster for them, but it was a fact that they were getting weaker.

It seemed like seeing this even incited the monsters around them as they started attacking with even more ferocity.

But seeing this was also a sign for the heroes.

"So there is someone commanding them. It seems like they received the order to attack."

Seeing this meant that the play that they were putting on wasn’t for nothing.

It meant that there was something out there that was worth luring in.

Which was why they continued going on with this play even though it was putting their own lives in danger.

They were determined to end it today.

It was just that even though they showed signs of weakness, it didn’t seem like what they were trying to catch was going to bite. It seemed like they were being very cautious as they waited for more and more of the heroes to fall.

In the end, they still bit when it seemed like all of the heroes were about to end up falling.

"Now."

As soon as this was said, there was this large explosion that appeared in the middle of the black ooze.

A large patch of the black ooze was cleared out, but there was still a mass of the black ooze that was left in the center. This large mass of the black ooze had blocked the sudden explosion of holy magic that had suddenly fallen down.

Once that mass of black ooze was exposed, it started taking another form.

This mass of black ooze condensed until it took a human form.

After taking human form, some of the black ooze that was there seemed to fade away until it revealed the true form of this thing that had formed.

Seeing this, all of the heroes couldn’t help thinking of the past.

They couldn’t help thinking of when they first saw this figure back in the cave all those years ago. Even now, it didn’t seem like this figure had changed even though all these years had passed.

"So, we meet again."

When this figure spoke, everyone immediately knitted their brows.

It only took a single word for them to recognize this voice.

In fact, it was a voice that was hard for them to forget since it was a voice that had left a deep impression on them.

But after all these years, there was something that changed with that voice.

It seemed like the kid and the Black Tide had completely fused together.

It was now a complete mix between the two of them, rather than one dominating over the other.

But in terms of appearance, it didn’t seem like the kid had aged a single day.

"Do it."

As soon as this order was given, there was another powerful attack that was released.

It was just that this time, the kid was prepared for this.

Since they had already been exposed, it wasn’t as if it was a surprise anymore.

It was easy enough for the kid to raise his hand and create a wave of black ooze that blocked them. Even though it was a mix of their strongest attacks, the wave had been able to block it with ease.

It seemed like there was nothing that would be able to penetrate this wave of black ooze.

That was until Percival swung his sword.

With a single slash, he cut right through the wave that was there and created an opening.

But he wasn’t the only one that acted.

Once Percival created that hole, there was someone else that charged forward with his fist raised. There was a light that was surrounding his fist as if he was gathering his power, but it flickered when he approached.

When Ikki punched out at the kid, the kid condensed a sword of black ooze in his hand to match this punch.

In the end, both of them were pushed back because of this.

At the same time, both of them had a line of liquid coming out of the side of their mouths.

For Ikki, it was a streak of blood that came out.

For the kid, it was a streak of black ooze.

It seemed like the black ooze had combined with his body to the point where even the blood flowing in him was this black ooze.

It was hard to tell what was happening inside of the kid’s body at this point, but one was certain that it wasn’t normal anymore.
